ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation
At Kewell Converters, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We’re committed to minimising our environmental impact through innovation and responsible practices. Proudly holding the ISO 14001 environmental accreditation, we continuously strive to improve our processes and reduce waste. Our comprehensive Environmental Policy Statement highlights our dedication to protecting the planet, ensuring that we operate with care and respect for future generations.
Benefits of our Environmental Management System (EMS):
Our ISO 14001 (EMS) has brought tremendous advantages to our foam operations. By adopting this globally recognised standard, we’ve:
- Significantly reduced our environmental impact, aligning our processes with sustainable practices that benefit both the planet and our customers
- Greater efficiency in resource use and waste management ensures that we minimise unnecessary consumption, reflecting our commitment to responsible manufacturing
- Implementing an EMS allows us to streamline operations and reduce waste-related expenses
Through these strategies, we strive to create a better, more sustainable future for everyone, ensuring our foam fabrication processes stand as a benchmark in responsible production practices.
Our commitment to sustainable practices
At Kewell Converters, we are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint, working towards net-zero, and continuously improving our environmental performance. As part of this commitment, we are registered with Zellar, an online platform that helps us track, manage, and amplify our sustainability efforts.
We adhere to a comprehensive Environmental Policy Statement, ensuring responsible waste disposal, pollution reduction, and compliance with environmental regulations. Recycling wherever possible and assessing the environmental impact of our products and services are key priorities. We also consider the effects of our operations on the local community and the industries we serve, taking a proactive approach to sustainability.
We actively promote environmental awareness among our staff, suppliers and partners, ensuring that sustainability remains a shared responsibility.

“With climate change the biggest issue of our generation, everyone, everywhere needs to become more sustainable.
Zellar is helping us make that happen before it’s too late.
We’re delighted that Kewell Converters is showing such leadership in green issues for the business and manufacturing sector.”

Check out ZellarAt Kewell Converters, we prioritise resource efficiency by optimising product design to maximise yields and minimise waste. The majority of our foams are sourced from Zotefoams UK, a manufacturer based less than 20 miles away in Croydon, reducing transport emissions and supporting local supply chains.
As part of our Environmental Policy Statement, we’re committed to allocating the necessary resources to achieve our sustainability goals. By continually refining our processes and making responsible sourcing decisions, we ensure that environmental impact is considered at every stage of production.
Kewell Converters is committed to reducing waste through dedicated recycling initiatives. We have a weekly recycling collection and also ensure that large amounts of foam waste are redirected for repurposing rather than disposal. By operating within a closed-loop system, we maximise material reuse, minimising environmental impact. These efforts align with our commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing.
We actively reduce energy consumption through smart infrastructure choices. We’ve installed MCBD lighting across our premises, cutting power usage and lowering CO₂ emissions. Additionally, cavity wall insulation, enhanced roof lights, and cladding improve insulation, reducing the need for excessive heating and cooling.
We’re committed to green energy solutions, reducing reliance on non-renewable sources. We’ve installed a 50kWp PV solar panel system with 200 European-made panels, supplying 20% of our power needs. This investment cuts our CO₂ emissions by 26 tonnes annually, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
